The words above are part a poem written By Ben Hur Lampman from the Portland Oregonian Sept. 11, 1925   I read these words not long after I had to let my Chance leave this world. While there is more to the poem the words above resonated loudly with me and continues to resonate even with the years that have passed. Adding new members to your family does not replace the one you let go but rather it honors their memory. What you have learned from them you will take forward with your next companion. One of the hardest times for a pet owner is the loss of their pet/companion/friend. How many times have I heard "it's just a dog". When I hear those words I know that particular person has never experienced the relationship we have and I can feel sorry for them. I hope I can bring some comfort by providing a place for storing your memories. While we know we don't feel your pain, it is completely unique to you, we have experienced our own so we understand.
